RTL II is a German-language private TV company operated by RTL2 Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG which offers a full schedule of programming for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg. The programmes are delivered via cable networks, DVB-T and satellite. The company, which was founded in 1993 and has about 150 employees, is headquartered in Grünwald near Munich, whilst news programmes are produced in Cologne. The main shareholders in RTL II are the RTL Group, the Bauer Media Group and the Tele München Group; Burda GmbH holds a stake of 1.1 percent.

Scalability and Flexibility of SGI® UV™ 1000 Deemed Critical to Advance Analysis Capabilities
SGI, the trusted leader in technical computing, today announced that Sikorsky Innovations, the technology development organization within Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, has selected an SGI® UV™ 1000 high performance computing (HPC) system with 576 cores and 1.5 TB of RAM, powered by Intel® Xeon® processor X7500 series, along with additional SGI storage and services, to enhance its digital prototyping and virtual design capabilities.

COSMOS & Miracle Consortia Select SGI Technology to Close in on the Big Bang & Exoplanets

Research Collaboration Led by Professor Stephen Hawking and DiRAC Select Next-Generation SGI® UV Shared Memory System
SGI has announced that COSMOS and Miracle Consortia* have selected SGI as its preferred technology partner for their shared-memory node, as part of the STFC funded DiRAC collaboration. This is a continuation of the national service offered by Stephen Hawking's COSMOS Consortium, based at the University of Cambridge. This announcement enlarges and extends a long-standing relationship between SGI and the COSMOS Consortium, and will allow these interdisciplinary organisations to solve some of the most complex computing challenges of our time and find answers to astoundingly big questions.
